Enrolling

How old do children have to be?
We love caring for little ones from six weeks old all the way through elementary school. Whether you are heading back to work after a new baby or looking for a fun place for your big kid after school, there is a spot here for your family.
How do I enroll?
The best first step is a tour. Come see our rooms, meet our teachers, and ask us anything that is on your mind. If it feels like the right fit, we will walk you through the paperwork together and get your child's first day on the calendar.
Do you have openings right now?
Our openings change from room to room and week to week, so the easiest way to know is to give us a call at 208-650-PLAY (208-650-7529). We will happily tell you what we have right now and, if your child's room is full, what the wait looks like.
Is there a waitlist?
Yes. If the room you need is full, we would be glad to add you to our waitlist, and there is never a cost to be on it. We will reach out to you as soon as a spot opens up.
Can I enroll in the middle of the year?
Of course! Life happens. Families move, jobs change, and schedules shift. We enroll all year long whenever we have room, and we will do everything we can to help your little one settle in.
Can I tour before I decide?
Please do! We would love to show you around. Choosing care for your child is a big decision, and we would much rather you visit twice and feel confident than enroll feeling unsure.

Cost

What does care cost?
We believe families deserve to know our prices up front. For infants and toddlers, Flex Care (up to 25 hours a week) is $865 a month, and Standard Care (25 hours or more) is $955 a month. For preschool and school age children, Flex Care is $775 and Standard Care is $865. Our After-School Club is $395 a month, all inclusive, and van pickup from school is available for $120 a month per child.
What is the difference between Flex Care and Standard Care?
It simply depends on how many hours your family needs. Flex Care is for families who need us up to 25 hours a week, and Standard Care is for 25 hours a week or more. If a child on Standard Care is with us more than 50 hours in a week, those extra hours are $10 an hour for infants and toddlers and $8.50 an hour for preschool and school age.
Do I pay less if my child misses days?
Tuition is one even monthly rate. We figure it from a fair average across the whole year, so the amount is the same every month and your budget stays predictable. It also means your child's spot and their teachers are always ready for them.
What fees are there?
There is $150 due when you enroll, and then $50 every six months after that. A few other fees only apply in certain situations, like late tuition, late pickup or a returned payment. You can find all of them on our Tuition page, so nothing catches you off guard.
Do you offer a sibling discount?
We do not offer a sibling discount at this time. We work hard to keep our rates fair for every family, and we would be happy to talk through your options if you have more than one little one joining us.
Do you accept ICCP or state assistance?
Yes, we do, and we encourage you to look into it! More families qualify than realize it, and it can cover much of your tuition. If your application is complete and you meet the requirements, ask us about Provisional Enrollment so your child can start before the state finishes its review. The state sets the timing and does not share case updates with us, so if ICCP does not come through, regular tuition applies for the time your child attended.
My child is three. Why are they still at the toddler rate?
We know this one can be a surprise, so we like to share it before you enroll. Our preschool rate begins when your child is potty independent, not on their third birthday. Little ones still in diapers need more hands-on time and supplies, so they stay at the toddler rate. Once your child is three or older and wearing real underwear here with no more than one accident a week for two weeks in a row, they move to the preschool rate on the 1st of the next month. Nap time pull-ups never count against them.
When is tuition due?
Tuition, including any ICCP copays, is due on the 1st of each month. Payments are considered late after the 5th.
What happens if my tuition is late?
Starting on the 6th, there is a $10 late fee each day plus a 2.5% monthly finance charge, and a returned or failed payment is $30. We know life gets tight sometimes, so if you are worried about a payment, please come talk to us early. We would much rather work it out together.
What if I am late picking up?
We close at 6:30, and our teachers have families waiting for them at home too. Late pickup is $1 a minute from 6:31 to 6:59, plus $50 after 7:00. If we call you to pick up early, like for an illness, please come within 45 minutes. After that it is $20, then $1 a minute. If you are running behind, a quick call always helps.

Hours and daily life

What are your hours?
We are open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 in the morning to 6:30 in the evening, so there is plenty of room for early starts and long work days.
What days are you closed?
We close for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, and the full week from Christmas Eve through New Year's. We close at 5:00 on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Once in a while we may close for bad weather or an emergency, and we will always let you know as early as we can through Procare.
How will I know how my child's day went?
You will get to share in your child's day through the Procare app. Our teachers send updates, photos and little notes throughout the day, and you can message us there anytime. It is one of our favorite parts of the day, too.
Do you provide meals?
Yes! We serve breakfast, lunch and three snacks every day, full of fruits, veggies, grains and proteins, all included in tuition. We eat family style whenever we can, which helps little ones build independence and table manners, and water is offered all day. We ask that outside food stay out of the classrooms, but if your child has an allergy or special diet, just send us a written plan and you are welcome to send food from home that fits it.
When is nap time?
Our quiet hours are 12:30 to 3:00 in the afternoon. Babies sleep whenever they need to, and our toddlers and preschoolers have a cozy nap or rest time to recharge. To help our sleepy little ones rest, we kindly ask that drop-offs and pickups happen before 12:30 or after 3:00.
What should I pack?
We have the basics covered: diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, meals, sunblock and all of our supplies. From home, please send at least one full change of clothes (three while potty training), bottles and binkies, a special blanket or stuffy for nap, and a coat, hat and boots when the weather calls for it. Labeling everything with your child's name helps us keep it all together. Toys, candy and electronics are best left at home.
How do drop-off and pickup work?
It is quick and easy. When you arrive, sign your child in on the iPad at the front desk or on the Procare app on your phone, then walk them to their classroom for a hug goodbye. At pickup, just do the reverse: collect your child from their room, then sign them out on the iPad or your phone. For your child's safety, we only release children to adults you have approved in writing, and we may ask for a photo ID.

After-School Club

Which schools do you pick up from?
Our van picks up kindergarteners from Burton at midday and picks up kids from Adams after school. We will meet them right at the school and bring them back to us for the afternoon.
What if my child goes to a different school?
They are still so welcome here! You can drop them off with us after school, and they will enjoy the very same clubs, snacks and fun as everyone else.
What happens on early release days?
We have you covered! On early release days we open the club earlier, and there is no extra charge.
What about no-school days and teacher in-service days?
Those are some of our favorite days! On no-school days and school breaks, After-School Club kids can spend the whole day with us, 6:30 to 6:30, at no extra cost.
What do they actually do all afternoon?
Plenty! After a long school day, kids get two snacks, time to play outside or in our big gym, and games, crafts and activities that keep big kids busy. Mostly, they get room to relax, have fun with friends and just be a kid.
Who is on the van?
Every route has one of our staff members on board who is certified in CPR and First Aid. We count heads at every step, so you can rest easy knowing your child is in good hands from school to our door.

Health and safety

How many children does each teacher care for?
Fewer than you might expect! We follow Idaho's ratio rules, which use a points system where younger children count for more, and most of the time our groups run smaller than the state allows. Our babies and one year olds, for example, are usually with just 4 little ones per teacher, and never more than 6. Smaller groups mean more cuddles, more attention and more time for every child. We would love to show you how your child's room is staffed when you tour.
When should my child stay home sick?
To help keep all of our little ones healthy, please keep your child home if they have a fever of 101.5 or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, lice, a runny nose with colored discharge, discharge from the eyes or ears, or a contagious illness like COVID, pink eye, chicken pox or measles. If symptoms show up during the day, we will give you a call, and we ask that you pick up within 45 minutes. Your child is welcome back once they have been symptom free for 24 hours without medicine.
Can you give my child medicine?
Yes, we are happy to help. We just need a signed Medication form, a note from your doctor or urgent care, or a signed copy of the prescription with instructions. Please send medicine in its original labeled container, not expired. For everyone's safety, children never carry or take medicine on their own.
Who are your teachers?
We hire for heart. Our teachers are warm, patient people who light up around children, and your child will be welcomed by name every morning. Every teacher passes an Idaho Enhanced Background Check through the Department of Health and Welfare and is certified in CPR and First Aid, and we keep training and supporting them so they keep growing right alongside your little one.
Are you licensed?
Yes, we are licensed by the State of Idaho, and we are proud of it. State licensing is thorough: every staff member passes an enhanced background check, every teacher is certified in CPR and First Aid, and our center is inspected throughout the year, both at scheduled visits and surprise ones. You can feel confident your child is in a safe, well cared for place.
What happens if my child gets hurt?
Bumps and scrapes are part of growing up, and when they happen, our teachers are right there with comfort and care. Every teacher is certified in First Aid and CPR, and we will always let you know about any injury. In a true emergency, we call 911 first, then you, and file a report with the state. We also practice fire drills every month, along with our evacuation plan, so we are ready for anything.

Other

My child bites. Will you keep them?
Please do not worry, you are not alone! Biting is a normal stage for little ones who are still finding the words for big feelings, and it is one of the most common things parents ask us about. When it happens, we step in right away, care for the child who was hurt, and stay calm and gentle with the child who bit. We let both families know the same day, and if it keeps happening, we will partner with you on a plan to help your child through it.
